The members of the legendary Laichtin Naofa Ceili Band (Miltown Malbay) enjoyed a social evening in the Bellbridge House Hotel in Spanish Point on Friday June 29th , hosted by Frank Whelan , Chairman Fleadh Nua Committee and Joe O’Connor , Reachtaire CCE. A lively session of West Clare music continued into the small hours.

An “Open Evening” was held at the new Teach Cheoil in Kilrush in West Clare on Wed. June 27th . More than twenty musicians , singers and dancers from Kilrush , Kilkee, Ennis, Ennistymon and Tulla received a standing ovation from a most enthusiastic audience .

The Douglas branch, Craobh Dúglais CCÉ, is celebrating ten years of musical activities in Douglas in 2007. As part of the tenth anniversary of the foundation of Craobh Dúglais CCÉ, the branch is attempting to set up an instrument bank.

- Comhaltas expands to South America

Last night the first South American branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann was established in Argentina. The inaugral meeting took place in Ceolaras Coleman in Gurteen, Co. Sligo, a Comhaltas Regional Resource Centre.
