Craobh Seán Treacy of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (CCÉ) is pleased to relaunch the “Aiste as Gaeilge” competition with a total prize fund of €1,700. In addition, the “DÚCHAS” Trophy sponsored by Craobh Seán Treacy, will be awarded in respect of the best overall entry.

RTÉ Radio 1 Céili House will be broadcasting a three part series of the Senior Céilí Band Competition held at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2011, in Cavan. It starts this coming Saturday night (22nd October) at 9pm and will run until the 5th November.

Macalla na hÉireann, the 2011 Comhaltas Concert Tour of Ireland will cover 14 venues from the 16th to the 29th October. The annual Tour features the best of traditional talent drawn from all four Provinces of Ireland.

- Traditional Music Classes

Are you interested in learning a Traditional Irish Musical Instrument? We are planning to set up classes in the following instruments: Button Accordion (2 row b/c), Concertina, FIddle.
If there is enough interest, we may also hold classes in: Ceili Band Drumming, Harp, Lilting, Traditional Singing, Guitar/Keyboard accompaniment. Please let us know if you interested in classes in any of these. Students must provide their own instrument and will be taken on a first come first served basis. Classes will cost approximately €8 and will be charged by the term.
