Dundrum Traditional Concert

Craobh Chualann CCÉ in association with the Leinster Fleadh present a great concert of music, song and dance in the Mill Theatre, Dundrum on Thursday night, 10th July.

Star of the night will be singer/songwriter Bruce Scott. Bruce hails from Liverpool and is well known in traditional singing circles through his many appearances at festivals in both Ireland and Britain and is a regular visitor to the Fleadh Nua in Ennis each year. Bruce was a member of the group who took part in the 2007 Comhaltas Concert Tour of Ireland and the 2008 Tour of Britain. He will also be crossing the Atlantic in October for the Comhaltas 2008 North American tour. No doubt he’ll be performing his self composed ballad “The Colleen by the Shore” which won first prize at the 2004 All-Ireland Fleadh in Clonmel.

Also starring on the night will be a singer who needs no introduction to lovers of traditional Irish song, Niamh Parsons. Niamh has one of the most distinctive voices in Irish music expressing the sorrow and longing of the Celtic soul (Boston Globe).

The concert also includes the highly talented musicians, singers and dancers from Dublin’s Craobh Chualann Branch of Comhaltas.
