For the third successive year, Kilfenora hosted the Clare Fleadh in 2011, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. Once again, as in 2010, the sun shone on Sunday afternoon as the Kilfenora Céilí Band entertained a vast throng of set dancers and visitors from near and far. The Fleadh competitors could relax now that their competitions were over, and take to the dancefloor with friends and relations. A fitting climax to one of the largest county Fleadhs with 1400 competitors.

Fleadh Cheoil an Chláir will be hosted by Craobh Laichtin Naofa , Miltown Malbay in 2012. The first great Clare Fleadh was held in Miltown on the 6th /7th August 1957. Miltown also hosted the Fleadh in ‘61 and ‘88.

Fleadh Cheoil an Chláir has returned to its roots in places like Kilmihil , Tulla , Kilfenora and Miltown in the past five years. It now ranks as one of the best Fleadhs in the country and is again attracting musicians and visitors from far and near as well as ever increasing numbers of competitors.
