- Fonntraí - Great Irish Traditional Nights in Dublin

Fonntraí, the longest running stage show of its kind in Dublin (over 30 years), takes place throughout July and August each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night at Cultúrlann na hÉireann in Monkstown. The show plus the traditional session of “ceol agus craic” that follows offers audiences a memorable night of unique Irish entertainment.

- KILFENORA CÉILÍ BAND CENTENARY FESTIVAL

All roads lead to the North Clare village of Kilfenora on Thursday, 23rd April for the start of a unique event in Irish music and social history. A festival has been organized in conjunction with the local branch of Comhaltas to run from 23rd to 26th April celebrating the centenary of the world-renowned Kilfenora Céilí Band.

- Ceolta Sí on the move

While there was a quiet beginning to the tourist season in Youghal, numbers are picking up and Ceolta Sí are on the move. Having performed their annual Seisiún for good audiences at Brú na Sí for the month of August, they are having to relocate to the Mall Arts Centre for two nights a week to accommodate the audience. Even better, some August shows are almost sold out already.

- Craobh Eochaille Czech-ing in!

The group that took part in the European Youth Folkband 2008 have landed back. On 10th July a group largely drawn largely from Craobh Eochaille CCÉ and led by teachers Daithí Kearney and Louise Keating left Cork airport to take part in a European Youth Network Project entitled ‘Music and Folklore are Connecting Us III’.

- Leinster Fleadh Starts Today

It’s that time at last so let the festivities begin!! Yes the Leinster Fleadh has arrived and a great weekend of ceol, rince, amhrain agus craic is just about to begin
The Official Opening of Fleadh Laighean 2008 will be held in Amharclann Naithí - Ballinteer, Dublin at 8.00pm tonight (Friday 11th July). Music will be by Craobh Naithí and Ceoltóirí Óga Laighean.

- Civic Reception to mark new stage of development for Comhaltas in Youghal

On Thursday night, 3rd July, a special event will be hosted by Youghal Town Council for the launch of a number of activities and developments planned by Craobh Eochaille CCÉ for the coming months. It is hoped that these developments will benefit the town and the surrounding areas in the present and long into the future. The plans include an ambitious building programme, as well as a performance and training schedule that will continue to promote Irish traditional music and profile Youghal around the world.

- Sliabh Notes in Ennis - Saturday, 19 April

South-West of Ireland traditional group, Sliabh Notes visit Cois na hAbhna for a concert on Saturday, 19 April. Formed in 1995, the group features box player Dónal Murphy from Abbeyfeale, fiddle player Matt Cranitch from Cork, and Tommy O’Sullivan from Dingle on guitar. These virtuoso musicians are noted for their electrifying performances and their repertoire always includes some of the great music from the Sliabh Luachra area.

- Ballyduff Summer Seisiún Show

“The Booley House” traditional entertainment show, run by Ballyduff/Ballinvella/Ballysaggart Comhaltas Branch, is hosted every Summer on the Wednesday nights of July and August. In 2008 they featured on RTE’s “Nationwide” programme, RTE Radio 1’s “Céilí House” as well as BBC TV Northern Ireland’s travel series “Around Ireland in 80 Days”.
