The Féile Padraig Dall Ó Beirn / the Patrick Byrne Weekend is being held to honour the 19 century Monaghan harper Patrick Byrne, “the last of the great Irish harpers” and the first Irish traditional musician ever to be photographed. The festival will take place in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan.
We will have workshops in harp, traditional singing, seán-nos dancing, intermediate fiddle, advanced fiddle, banjo, piano accordion, button accordion and flute / tin whistle as well as sessions, the inaugural Patrick Byrne lecture and our annual branch concert.
