Cavan Co Board Comhaltas are holding a session in memory of Vincent Tighe in Crowes Corner, Ballyjamesduff on Friday 12th December at 10.30pm.
There was considerable sadness among his many friends in traditional music at the news of the passing in Cavan Hospital in early September this year of Vincent Tighe from Carrick Eighter. The noted musician had been heavily involved down the decades with Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann and had many good friends far and wide. He is survived by his wife Bridget, daughter Eileen Tighe and son Martin Tighe. He was buried in St Bartholomew’s Cemetery Munterconnaught.
Cavan Co Board of Comhaltas is to have a memorial Cup to honour and remember Vincent Tighe at the Kilnaleck Co Fleadh in June 2009. Refreshments will be served and all musicians, singers and dancers are welcome. Admission is free. MC for the night is Gussy Moyles, County Chairman.
