Drumshanbo Comhaltas is a very active Branch in the North-West of Ireland.

We run whistle, flute and accordian classes in the area and have monthly Junior and Senior sessions.

Drumshanbo has been known as the home of the “Joe Mooney Summer School” for the past 20 years but last year added another Traditional music festival to its bow i.e. The Packie Duignan Traditional week-end in January.

We welcome all visiting musicians, singer and dancers to our sessions.

*PACKIE DUIGNAN TRADITIONAL WEEK-END 2008*

“Play you a tune, why wouldn’t I” words of a song composed by Drumshanbo’s Charlie McGettigan about the late Packie Duignan. And the words in a way sum up the man who was Packie Duignan, one of the last of the wandering minstrels.
