Features

The Dungiven Comhaltas branch was re-established in 2004 and works mostly with beginners, with the aim of regenerating a great enthusiasm for the music, starting at a young age. Over the past few years the branch has gone from strength to strength and is proud to have hosted two successful county Fleadheanna Cheoil in 2007 and 2008. There is a long history of traditional music and culture in the town which the branch hopes to build upon through the music classes and other cultural events and activities they have planned for 2008/9.

The branch has now launched an expansive dynamic website at www.dungivencomhaltas.com which will continue to grow and develop in the future to provide our members and other fans of traditional Irish music with a broad range of sources, information and archive material.

On 14th March 2009 the branch will host a pilot event project, ‘Anam Ceol’, (workshops/concerts/seisiuns) with the aim of making it annual weekend event in their calendar.
