The Erne Music Club Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann
Minutes of the inaugural meeting held in the Hotel Carlton, Belleek, Co. Fermanagh on Tuesday 9th January 2007 There was an attendance of 21 persons, comprising of members of the Erne Music Club and the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and Assistant Secretary of Fermanagh Co. Board of CCE
Vince Hearns, Reachtaire of the Meitheal region took the chair and invited Seamus McCormack, Chairperson of the Meitheal region and Paddy O Rourke, Chairperson of Fermanagh County Board to join him.
The Reachtaire welcomed those present and opened the meeting with a brief outline of the history of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann and explained the structure of the organisation and in particular the role of the Meitheal. He praised the attendees for showing leadership and for making a contribution to their community. He acknowledged the work already done by The ERNE MUSIC CLUB and explained to them that by now joining Comhaltas they were strengthening their efforts.
Explaining that the main purpose of the meeting was to elect a committee Vince sought nominations for the various officers.

The Reachtaire declared all the nominees to be duly elected and congratulated them on their election. Seamus McCormack then addressed the meeting and outlined the structure of the organisation highlighting that the inclusion of Fermanagh in the Meitheal region did not interfere with it’s role in the province of Ulster. The Fermanagh County Chairperson also addressed the meeting. Sonny McDermott a member of the Ard Comhairle of Comhaltas asked for permission to address the meeting and informed those present that there had been a branch in Mulleek many, many years ago.
Those present were also urged to consider the possible work of collecting/recording archival material and were then given the information pack for the establishing a branch of Comhaltas. The Reachtaire committed to visiting the branch in the very near future with a view to assisting in any problems that might be encountered by the new branch.
The meeting was then adjourned and some informal discussions took place and some specific questions were answered.
The branch had two junior members and one adult member attending the training workshop for archival field workers held in the regional resource centre in Gurteen in June of 2007. There are also plans afoot to organise a mini festival in Belleek in December.

- Seisiún - Sessions: Every Wednesday at 9pm during July and August
- Sean Nós dancing Workshops: Friday 5th November and run for 5 consecutive weeks
- Sunday Session - Sessions: First Sunday of every month
- Erne Music Club,Belleek Music Classes - Classes: Every Friday from 5:30pm - 8pm
