Kilcummin Comhaltas Branch was founded in June 1973 with a Committee of six and an additional membership of twenty-five. Over the years the branch as continued to grow and today we have a committee of twenty plus an additional membership of in excess of 150.

Our aims are to promote and keep alive the Irish culture through the teaching of traditional music, singing, dancing, storytelling and the use of the Irish Language. Members of the branch take part in County, Munster and All Ireland Fleadhanna and also in local cultural events.

Branch Music/Dancing Classes

KILCUMMIN CCÉ CLASSES: Music classes for tin whistle / flute /beginner banjo continue every Friday night. For further information, contact Colm Guilfoyle on (087) 6467033. Fiddle classes continue in Kilcummin N.S. on Thursday evenings. For further details, contact Brendan O’Sullivan on (086) 3612665.
Singing classes by Martina Ryle continue every Thursday night. For further information, contact the Rural Development Office. Button Accordion classes with Conor Moriarty take place at various times during the week, contact Conor on 087 9698063. Kilcummin Comhaltas are resuming the monthly Sunday music sessions in Kilcummin Recreational Hall. These sessions are free of charge and they are open to musicians of all ages and of all levels. Please contact branch for details. Adult Set Dancing classes will commence in Kilcummin Recreational Hall on Tues. 24th January at 8.15pm. Junior Set Dancing classes will commence on Friday 20th January at 7pm for beginners and 8pm for advanced.
