The Admiral William Brown Branch inaugural meeting took place last Friday February 15th in Roots Pub in Buenos Aires City Centre.
Members and friends attended the meeting. It all started with chats and toasts and then continued with a small session and some dancing. The locals joined in applauses to the different melodies and dances, helping to the festive atmosphere of the occasion.
This second An Comhaltas branch in South America has entered the Comhaltas family on January 16th. The Committee and its members plan to organize sessions, music and set dancing classes along with other activities.

Some of its members have been part of the committee of Argentineans, who by invitation of J J O’Hara, joined the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of Admiral Brown’s death in Ireland. During this visit they had the chance to go to Ceoláras Coleman in Gurteen, Co. Sligo which marked the creation of the first branch in South America.
We hope we can spread our enthusiasm to many people in Argentina in order to promote the traditional music, dance and culture of Ireland, always bearing in mind: Ceol agus Gaol!
