Button accordion player John Regan, a Sligo native and now living in Dublin, plays a set of jigs: “Dominick’s Farewell to Cashel” composed by Josie McDermott and an old version of “Fasten the Leggin”. John was All-Ireland Champion in 1970.

Two reels, “The broken pledge” and “Martin Wynne’s”, played on concertina by Katie O’ Sullivan from the Murroe/Cappamore branch of Comhaltas in Limerick. As well as teaching traditional music, Katie also teaches clasical piano.

“The Glendarragh Jig” was composed by accordionist and teacher Willie Larkin from Templeglantine, Co. Limerick. The jig is played here by fiddle player Evelyn Healy, also from West Limerick, who learned her music from Willie Larkin. She concludes the set with a jig, “The Jocelyn Tree”, which she learned from the playing of Oisín Mac Diarmada. This jig was composed by Donegal fiddle player, Tommy Peoples. Tommy also plays it as a slow air on his album, “The Quiet Glen” released in 2005.
