The Meitheal Residential Summer School represents 5 days of total immersion in Irish music with over 60 participants from many countries. Aspects of the music covered inclue technique, style, composition, arrangement and orchestration under the guidance of eight internationally renowned tutors. Concertina player Ernistine Healy is one of the 2007 Co-Directors and togerher with fellow Co-Director Fionnuala Rooney on harp recorded these 3 jigs at the inaugral Summer School in 2004. The first jig was learned from the playing of Laoise Kelly, the second which is associated with Sliabh Luachra is called “Port na gCairdeanna” and the third is “The Rolling Waves.”
