Well spotted Paddy, it’s none other than Benny O’Connor who also togged out with the Glenside (John Carty, Kevin Burke, Pj Hernon, etc) at the Céilí Bands Reunion concert in Ennis back in 2001.

Well played lads .Benny is one of the best ceili band drummers on the scene. Listen to him playing with the Shaskeen ceili band on vinal if you lucky to come across it , serious drumming.

Have to agree that Benny is something special in céilí band drumming circles. That night at the Fleadh Nua in 2001 was really magic and will never be forgotten by anyone who was lucky enough to be there.

My father, big ceili band fan chose that year to die, and consequently we couldn;t go to Ennis. But....I have the CD and it has tided me over many a tube journey to London. And..... Innisfree should have won. I cry every time I hear those jigs....

Great music from the Tribes . Why not ? Great musicians involved

Echoes of the Shaskeen Ceili Band there. Would the drummer not be Benny O’Conner? It sounds like him but you can’t see him.
