ComhaltasLive #245 - 6: Paddy King and Jeremy Spencer Play Some Slides
The West Limerick 102 Community Radio Concert held in Abbeyfeale on the 16th of November 2007 was organised by Jacqui O’Connor, a trad musician and popular presenter of “The Trad Scene”, a weekly Saturday programme on the station. The scores of people who could not gain admission to the packed concert and music lovers generally will be pleased to learn that the CD of the concert is now being released, to be followed shortly by a DVD.
This is a selection of slides played by Paddy King (who took second place in the Senior Button Accordion competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2007), Jeremy Spencer on fiddle and Clodagh Buckley on keyboard. The first tune is a fairly recent composition by concertina player Timmy Collins.
Incidentally, the new CD “Reed Only” featuring Timmy and uilleann piper Brian Mc Namara will be launched at the Nyah festival in Cavan in the Widow’s Bar, Belturbet on Sunday, March 9th.

Collins/McNamara ‘New’ CD. Don’t think so! Has been out for at least a year, if not more. Might be new in Cavan though!

You have to remember Maria that copying and circulating a CD in a county as big as Cavan can take a considerable amount of time!

Clodagh Buckley ,watch Podge ,he slip in a few grace notes ,you are all sounding great ..........
