ComhaltasLive #252 - 4: Set of reels with Peter Horan (flute) and Gerry Harrington (fiddle)
Under its development strategy, Comhaltas has over several years been establishing Meitheal Regional Resource Centers around Ireland, each including performance theatres, tuition facilities, archives, etc. Recently in the Sligo Centre - the Ceoláras Coleman in Gurteen - we recorded the legendary Sligo fiddle and flute player Peter Horan and fiddle player Gerry Harrington playing these three reels: “The Trip to Portobello”, “The Old Blackthorn Stick” and “The Green Groves of Erin”.

Peter has passed away. We have lost one of the great flute player in Ireland. R.I.P. in musician’s heaven…
Peter Horan - a true gentleman and generous musician who plays for the pure joy of the music. Not many left like him unfortunately. Long may he prosper
