ComhaltasLive #266-2: Nuala Hehir (accordion) and Liz Gaughan (fiddle)
A set of jigs from button accordion player Nuala Hehir from Ennis, Co. Clare and fiddle player Liz Gaughan, originally from Manchester, England and now living in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. They learned the first tune from Clare concertina player Gearóid O’Halloran and they associate the second with the late Joe Liddy, fiddle player and composer from Co. Leitrim.

Lovely playing. How nice to hear an accordion sounding like an accordion and not a concertina.

Great sound, the box sounds great. Can’t beat the deep sound of the Paulo!
Does anyone know the name of the second tune?

Joe Liddy’s? ;-)
I think this tune has been originally composed in Em, though. As “Come along with me” is usually played in G Maj rather than F Maj.

That’s a solid, steady style of music there. And you can’t beat that Soprani sound. Marvellous!
The first jig is known as “Come Along with Me”, though Finbarr Dwyer recorded it under the unusual title “The Hideout.”
