ComhaltasLive #290-3: A set of jigs played by Evelyn Healy

“The Glendarragh Jig” was composed by accordionist and teacher Willie Larkin from Templeglantine, Co. Limerick. The jig is played here by fiddle player Evelyn Healy, also from West Limerick, who learned her music from Willie Larkin. She concludes the set with a jig, “The Jocelyn Tree”, which she learned from the playing of Oisín Mac Diarmada. This jig was composed by Donegal fiddle player, Tommy Peoples. Tommy also plays it as a slow air on his album, “The Quiet Glen” released in 2005.
