This week we bring you some music from past musical celebrations. We’ll hear from the Kearns family of Sligo, the group Crinniú, Oliver Diviney (button accordion) with Pádraig O’Reilly (piano), fiddle player Michael O’Rourke, Aoife and Ronan Greene on concertina and fiddle, Martin and Damien Connolly on button accordion and fiddle and a New York Céilí Band.

00:00 Playing at the 6th Annual Paddy Killoran Festival in Ballymoate, Co. Sligo in June 2009 are the Kearns family: Cian on concert flute, Caoimhe on fiddle and their mother Fionnuala on keyboard. They play a selection of reels, the first one learned from the playing of Liz Carroll and the second is associated with Larry Redigan.
03:59 Here is the group “Crinniú” playing at the Cooley/Collins Festival Concert in Gort in October 2007. They play three tunes: “The Boys of Bluehill” hornpipe, followed by the reels “O’Flanagan Meets O’Hanlon”, and “The Money Musk”. Members of the group are: Jack Talty (keyboard), Ann Marie Grogan (flute), Caitlíin Nic Gabhann (concertina), Siobhán O’Donnell (bodhrán and vocals), Damien O’Reilly (accordion) and Áine Bird (fiddle).
08:43 Co. Galway accordionist Oliver Diviney with Pádraig O’Reilly (keyboard) playing two jigs: “Kevin O’Loughlins” (composed by Kevin), and a tune which he learned from concertina player Martín Mike Fahy.
13:11 Playing next is Michael O’Rourke from Tulla, Co. Clare, playing at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2004 when he won the All-Ireland senior fiddle competition. Michael plays the reel “Thirteen Arches”, which was composed by fiddler Séamus Connolly.
14:52 Taking second place in U-18 duets at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2005, Aoife (concertina) and Ronan Greene (fiddle) from Ballindine CCÉ, Co. Galway. They play the reel “Kiss the Maid Behind the Barrell”.
16:22 Recorded in 2003, Martin Connolly (button accordion) and his son Damien (fiddle) play two jigs: “The Lark in the Morning” and “Cooley’s”. Martin is of course the manufacturer of the popular Kincora accordion, which he is playing. He lives in Ennis, Co. Clare.
18:58 Hornpipe from Fleadh Cheoil ha nÉireann 2005, played by the New York Céilí Band Coleman (Rafferty) Mulvihill CCÉ, USA.
