From New York, USA accordion player Dan Gurney plays a selection of reels recorded at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2004 in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. Piano accompaniment is by Conor McGurk. Incidentally, Dan took third place at the Under-18 Button Accordion Competition at that Fleadh. The reels are “The Broken Pledge”, “The Eavesdropper” and “The Reconciliation”.

Wow! Listen to that rhythm- it’s quite a rarity these days to hear younger musicians play with such wonderful swing & lift. The 2nd tune is also commonly referred to as “The Cameronian"…
