Selection of barn dances played at the Comhaltas 60th Anniversary Concert in Tullamore, Co. Offaly by Antóin Mac Gabhann from Co. Cavan, who was All-Ireland Fiddle Champion in 1971 and 1972. The tunes are “The New Broom” and “Down the Old Boreen”, both composed by Vincent Broderick. The concert, held on Saturday, 30th April, 2011 featured several All-Ireland Fiddle Champions from 1951 to the 1980s. Kieran Hanrahan (of RTÉ Céilí-House fame) was Fear an Tí.

An impromptu performance of sean-nós step dancing by Co. Galway native Emma O’Sullivan outside the Hilton Airport Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, USA. Music is provided by well-known USA accordionist John Whelan. Emma was one of the many music and dance tutors at the Comhaltas Annual Convention of North America, held for the first time in San Antonio from the 24th to the 27th of March 2011.
