A selection of reels: “Paddy Fahy’s” and “Gorman’s” played on Uilleann Pipes by Isaac Alderson, a member of the CCÉ Capt. Francis O’Neill branch in Chicago, USA. These tunes were recorded just Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Listowel in 2002, just after Isaac had won three All-Ireland Senior titles on flute, whistle and uilleann pipes.

- An impromptu session with Sorcha Rooney (harp) from Sligo, Daire Mulhearn (button accordion) from Ennis, Co. Clare, Karen Hickey (fiddle), Fiachra O’Regan (uilleann pipes) and Pádraig O’Neill (fiddle) of Dublin.
- A group of tutors from the 2008 Scoil Éigse, including Sabina McCague (harp) from Co. Monaghan, Máire Nic Dhiarmada (flute) of Sligo, Pádraig McGovern (uilleann pipes) of Leitrim, Oisín MacDiarmada (fiddle) of Sligo and Pádraig King (button accordion) of Limerick.
- The Innisfree, Dartry and Naithí Céilí Bands, recorded at the Senior Céilí Band competition.
- Bronwyn De Paor and Edel Quinn in the Senior Fiddle competition.

A selection of jigs: “The Bluebells in Bloom” composed by Mike Dwyer, and “The Humours of Drinagh”, played by five of the tutors at Scoil Éigse 2008. The musicians are Sabina McCague (harp) from Co. Monaghan, Máire Nic Dhiarmada (flute) of Sligo, Pádraig McGovern (uilleann pipes) of Leitrim, Oisín MacDiarmada (fiddle) of Sligo and Pádraig King (button accordion) of Limerick. As well as being a member of the group “Téada”, Oisín is also leader of the Innisfree Céilí band, who won the Senior Céilí Band competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2008.
The music was recorded in Tullamore, Co. Offaly in August 2008 at Scoil Éigse, an annual summer school attended by approximately 800 pupils from many parts of the world.

- The Dawn / Music in the Glen

From the “Echoes of Erin 2008” Comhaltas Tour CD, piper James Mahon plays the reels, “The Dawn” and “Music in the Glen”. This selection of reels tunes were recorded by Leo Rowsome in London on the 27th July 1947, and that recording was the first recording of uilleann pipe music ever heard by the then young flute-player James Mahon.

Scoil Éigse 2008 was conducted by over 80 tutors. Five of these were Sabina McCague on harp from Co. Monaghan, Máire Nic Dhiarmada on flute from Co. Sligo, Pádraig McGovern on uilleann pipes from Co. Leitrim, Oisín Mac Diarmada on fiddle from Co. Sligo and Pádraig King from Co. Limerick on button accordion. Here they play two reels: “The Golden Keyboard” composed by New York button accordionist Martin Mulhaire, which is this week’s tutorial, and “The Fourpenny Bit”.
