Ceolta Sí on the move

While there was a quiet beginning to the tourist season in Youghal, numbers are picking up and Ceolta Sí are on the move. Having performed their annual Seisiún for good audiences at Brú na Sí for the month of August, they are having to relocate to the Mall Arts Centre for two nights a week to accommodate the audience. Even better, some August shows are almost sold out already.

Ceolta Sí have once again put together a new show bringing together a vibrant mix of music, song and dance, as well as a few stories. They have maintained the welcoming atmosphere of previous years and, with each week have welcomed greater numbers.

While Ceolta Sí are on the move, Seisiún na nÓg featuring the young members of Lár na Cruinne remains in Brú na Sí each Tuesday night. Seisiún na nÓg is an altogether different show and provides an opportunity for you to see the stars of the coming years. Some of these young performers are just back from a European Youth Network Project in the Czech Republic where they represented Ireland. The young east Cork musicians joined counterparts from Poland, Slovakia and The Czech Republic to form an orchestra that performed music from all four countries.

With the season nearly over, plans are being put in place for the coming teaching year, with classes starting again in September. Don’t miss your chance to experience the incomparable talents of Ceolta Sí this August at the Mall Arts Centre. Enquiries or text bookings to 087 793 4504 / 087 641 9081. Tickets are also available at Youghal Tourist Office. For more info see www.ceoltasi.com
