LIMERICK FLEADH CHEOIL 2010.
The Limerick County Fleadh Cheoil will take place in HOSPITAL Co. Limerick over the June bank holiday weekend.The town will rock to the sound of Irish music, song and dance over the holiday weekend. Competitions will take place in John the Baptist Secondary School in Hospital between Saturday June 5th and Monday June 7th. This is a fantastic venue with superlative facilities available in terms of numbers and quality of competition rooms, practice rooms, and parking. There will be catering facilities available throughout the weekend both in the School itself (for convenience) and in the town of Hospital. Attendance over the weekend is expected to exceed 3,000 patrons of Comhaltas and it is hoped to attract thousands of locals and visitors to the Hospital area. This year, the Limerick Fleadh is being hosted by CCÉ, Castleconnell/Ahane/Herbertstown branch of Comhaltas.

Wednesday May 12th
9 pm - Launch of Limerick County Fleadh in the foyer of John the Baptist Secondary School, Hospital • Honoured guest – Siobhan O’ Reilly – Luxembourg Rose 2009. • Art Competition Results and Prize-giving – Artwork will be on display in the foyer of the school. • Musical entertainment and refreshments available

Thursday. June 3rd
8 pm – Traditional Concert at St. John`s Church in Knockainey – by kind permission of Knockainey Historical Society Featuring – Traditional Group - Liadan, together with musicians, singers, dancers from Limerick Comhaltas branches Special Guest – Cáit Ní Chúis.

8.30 pm – Official Opening of Limerick County Fleadh 2010 in Hospital town. • Sexton Street Marching Band • “Gig Rig” • Music in the local pubs.
Saturday, June 5th
9.30 am – Fleadh Music & Singing Competitions U-12 & 12/15, Grupaí Cheoil U-12 & Céilí Band U-12 and Comhrá Gaeilge in John the Baptist Secondary School 7.30 pm – Aifreann tradisunta in Hospital Church • Music in the local pubs
Sunday, June 6th
12.30 pm – Fleadh Music & Singing Competitions 15/18 & Senior, Grupaí Cheoil 12/15, 15/18 and Senior & Céilí Band 12/15, 15/18 and Senior in John the Baptist Secondary School • Music in the local pubs
Monday, June 7th
Fleadh Set & Céilí Dancing Competitions in John the Baptist Secondary School • Music in the local pubs.
Please note that visitors are most welcome to come to the competition rooms over the weekend in order to hear the music, singing, dancing – just please remember that the competitors will need silence during their performance.
The June bank holiday weekend 2010 promises to be most enjoyable in the beautiful town of Hospital. It is a vibrant community with many voluntary organisations, 5 public houses, 2 schools, shops and is home to 1,500 people.
