- Ennis Under Siege for Fleadh Nua

Fleadh Nua kicks off with a record breaking Siege of Ennis on Sunday, 17th May. Cork set a world record In September, 2005 when 8,371 dancers danced the Siege of Ennis for 5 minutes continuously. Fleadh Nua (appropriately in Ennis), in conjunction with the Special Olympics, expects to break this record.
To motivate the dancers (if this were necessary in the Banner County) music will be provided by Clare’s own Kilfenora Céilí Band.

We are looking forward to a busy weekend of activities in Youghal this Halloween as we hold our AGM, welcome visitors from our sister branch Craobh Amergin the Gael and the Cúlra group from Britain.

- Cois na hAbhna Fiddle, Box & Banjo Workshops - Next Saturday

Cois na hAbhna hosts a day of top class traditional music workshops with Paul Brock (accordion), Enda Scahill (banjo) and Ryan Molloy (fiddle) on Saturday, 24th November. These cater for all levels of ability from beginner/improver to advanced. Workshops start from 9.15am and continue throughout the day until 3.30pm. A concert featuring the Workshop musicians takes place at 8.30pm and concessionary tickets at €10 are available to all workshop participants
