Brian Prior, a true gentleman

We are extremely sad to announce the passing this morning of Comhaltas Projects Officer Brian Prior, fiddle player, colleague and friend. All of us at Comhaltas are extremely saddened by the loss, and the Irish musical community has lost a great and generous heart. He will be be missed in so many contexts, including at the sessions he started in Monkstown and Ennis, his Foinn Seisiún workshops at Fleadh Nua and so many others. Our hearts and prayers go out to Anne and the rest of his family. The arrangements are as follows: * Reposing on Wednesday evening, 16 December from 18.00 – 19.30 at Daly’s, Francis St., Ennis, Co. Clare. * Removal at 19.30 from Daly’s to St. Joseph’s Church, Ennis. * Mass on Thursday morning, 17 December at 11.00 in St. Joseph’s, and burial in Drumcliffe, Ennis. * All are welcome to retire afterwards to Cois na hAbhna, Gort Road, Ennis. We’re sure that Brian would remind you to bring your instruments if you are so inclined. _Ar dheis de go raibh a anam dilis._ [*Video of Brian introducing a Comhaltas session in Monkstown*](http://comhaltas.ie/music/detail/comhaltaslive_202_5_culturlann_session/ “Video – Brian Prior introducing a session.”)
