This week we present more music from Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2008, held in Tullamore, Co. Offaly in August 2008. We include selections from the Under-18 All-Ireland fiddle competition, including fiddle players Niall Ó Murchú, Kelsey Lutz, Oisín Conway, Caoimhe Kearns, Síofra Nic Aodha, Brian Lindsay and Eimear Arkins. Mhicheáil Mac Dáibhéid, Co. Mayo. 13:23 | Brian Lindsay of of the Mullingan-Quinn Branch of Comhaltas in Mineola, New York, USA plays “The Flogging Reel”. He was recorded at the All-Ireland Under-18 fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2008 in Tullamore, Co. Offaly. 15:11 | Eimear Arkins of Corofin Comhaltas in Co. Clare plays this hornpipe in the Under-18 fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2008. Eimear took first place in the Slow Airs competition. Offaly. 17:15 | Newly-crowned All-Ireland Senior Céilí Band champions for 2008, the Innisfree Céilí Band from the Fred Finn Comhaltas branch in Sligo plays the “Peach Blossoms” barn dance. Band members are: Cormac Mac Diarmada, Damian O’Brien and Oisín Mac Diarmada, fiddles; Máire Nic Dhiarmada Finbar McGreevy and David Sheridan, flutes; Paul Finn, button accordion; Oliver Loughlin, piano accordion; Charles O’Connor, piano and Daragh Kelly on drums.
