Monaghan County Fleadh Cheoil

The Cr. Éamonn Ó Muirí branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann will play host to the Monaghan County Fleadh again this year in Scotstown.  The village will come alive with musicians and music lovers from all over the county and indeed the surrounding counties. The Fleadh will kick off with an Irish Night (Oíche Gaelach) on Monday 27th May.  Tuesday night 28th May is dedicated to our Ciorcal Comhrá.  The Fleadh launch & Ceolchoirm takes place on Thursday 30th May in the local school hall featuring local musicians and performances by Cr Éamonn Ó Muirí branch members, in addition to a performance from the adult group Ceolinn.  Sessions will be held in McCague’s pub in Scotstown village on Friday and Saturday nights, with a Junior Session in The Sports Complex at 5.30pm approx. on Saturday following the competitions.  Fleadh competitions get underway on Saturday 1st June in Urbleshanny NS from 10.00am.  Aifreann na Fleidhe will take place on Sunday morning 2nd June in St. Mary’s Church, Urbleshanny at 11.30am with local branch members providing the music and song.  On Sunday afternoon there will be a ‘Céilí sa Cearnóg’ in the village square in conjunction with Muineacháin le Gaeilge.
