50th Anniversary of West London Comhaltas

About the Event

West London Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann (CCE) is celebrating our 50th anniversary the last weekend in April 2007. West London was the first Comhaltas branch formed in England and was started in the Kings Head public house in Fulham Broadway by the late Michael Daly in 1957. Ever since, it has been providing support and inspiration to the people of West London and beyond. 35 families are members plus a further 60 adults and juniors. Our members, especially the young, play a lively part in local, national and international cultural festivals. We are proud of the part played by people of Irish descent in our diverse society. The public are welcome to our seisiún of music and dance, which is free and is held on the 2nd Friday of each month at Hammersmith Irish Centre, Blacks Road, London W6 9DT; 8.30-11pm.

The whole weekend will be a tribute to the late Joan Burke who spent so much time, love and passion promoting Irish music in London especially West London. We hope you can be there to help make it a huge success and a special weekend.
