Ceol na Coille’s Summer School of Irish Traditional Music takes place this year from 21st - 25th July in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. We welcome music enthusiasts of all ages and abilities for this week long celebration of Irish Traditional Music.
Advanced and Intermediate Masterclasses in Fiddle, Flute & Whistle, Uilleann Pipes, Button & Piano Accordion, Harp, Banjo & Mandolin, Concertina.
Beginner Classes (for 9 yrs and over) for those with some proficiency on their chosen instrument and
Introduction to Irish Music Course (for 6-9 yrs). The Introduction classes are suitable for kids who have no experience in traditional music and allows them to try different instruments over the week without the expense of purchasing one.
We are delighted to host Traditional Singing Workshops delivered by The Inishowen Traditional Singers Circle.
The summer school has grown in size over the past few years, and to facilitate greater numbers, the summer school will move this year to the exciting new and larger venue in Coláiste Ailigh, Cnoc na Móna, Letterkenny.
We are also delighted this year, to be working with theEaragail Arts Festival in delivering the Summer School. We have an exciting line up of events including recitals by visiting artists including - We Banjo 3 and The Martin Tourish, Éamon Cagney and Niwel Tsumbu Trio, who will performing at this years Earagáil Arts Festival in Letterkenny. Some of Irelands finest performers and tutors will be on hand to deliver what will be a great week of music and fun for all.
