Claire Egan will launch her new CD, Turning Tides at the Coleman Music Centre, Gurteen, Co Sligo on Saturday December 12th at 9pm. The launch will see a unique concert performed by Claire and featuring well known musicians Pauric McDonnacha, Eoin O’Neill & Terence O’Reilly.
Born in London and raised playing both classical and traditional music, Claire learned her formal traditional music from the great Clare fiddler, Brendan Mulkere and informally in the London sessions and from annual trips to Ireland.
Páraic Mac Donnchadha is a well-known banjo player from Co. Galway. He has presented and played on ‘Geanntraí’ a traditional music programme on TG4 and also featured on Raidió na Gaeltachta.
Eoin O’Neill, from Adrahan, Co. Galway is a well-known accordionist. He was influenced by the music of Charlie Harris with whom he later went on to share and learn music. His music has been heard on RnaG, RTE and other national and international broadcasts.
Terence O’Reilly has been playing folk/traditional music since the early seventies. He has toured extensively throughout Europe and North America. Terence is highly regarded in traditional music circles and noted primarily for his excellent guitar accompaniment.
This promises to be an excellent concert so booking is advisable
