Craobh Éamonn Ó Muirí are holding a weekend of music to commemorate Éamonn Ó Muirí, one of the founders of Comhaltas and the organisation’s first president. On Friday 11th at 8p.m. in Urbleshanny Hall/Sports Complex there will be a reception and the launch of a new biography of Éamonn Ó Muirí with the book’s author Mackie Rooney. This will be followed by a music recital with Pat Mc Cabe, Fergal Mullen, Jacqueline Mc Govern, Edel Morrison, Gerard Murray, Nicola Cusack, Mary and Colin Butler, McCague Family, Aonghus Rooney, Michael Rooney, June Mc Cormack and Mick O Donohue.
On Saturday 12th there will be a drop in session in the hall between 2-5 p.m. with your favourite artists on your favourite instruments featuring Michael , Aonghus, Edel, Jacqueline and Mary.
Finally on Sunday the annual Tydavnet Feis will be held in Urbleshanny School from 12 noon. Competitions in U-8, U-10, U-12, U-15. All instruments, singing, amhránaíocht, duets and trios. Comórtaisí Gaelige faoi 9, 12, os cionn 12 Scéal, Agallamh Beirte, Dán, Dráma Beag. Entries to Pauline Rooney by 10th April.
