The 29th Edinburgh International Harp Festival is a major international music festival held in Edinburgh, devoted to the music of the harp. The special relevance to Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann is that the 2010 Festival, which will take place from 9th-14th April, will feature two acclaimed Irish harpists: Triona Marshall
Triona is well-known from touring with the Chieftains and is also a distinguished solo player. Paul is an internationally acclaimed musician and harpmaker and has received special praise for his interpretations of early harp music from the Robert ap Huw manuscript. Both of them will be giving concerts in the Festival, as well as classes and workshops; the Edinburgh International Harp Festival is THE place to go if you want to learn how to play the lever harp. And it’s only just across the pond.
