Fleadh Nua is an annual week-long festival of top Irish traditional entertainment which includes free lunch-time concerts, workshops, sessions, classes and performances. As usual, expect to find some of the top names in Irish music plus dancing to Ireland’s premier céilí bands including the Tulla, Kilfenora and Turloughmore. Other Fleadh Nua attractions include: street and pub sessions, gig rig entertainment, céilís and concerts, Fleadh Club sessions, Traditional music, set dance and singing workshops and much much more.
The main event on Wednesday, 20th May will be the legendary Irish traditional group, The Chieftains, who will perform at Ennis Cathedral. This concert promises to be a unique event and the The Chieftains will be joined on the night by Triona Marshall (Harp/Piano), Alyth McCormack (Singer), Jon Pilatzke (Fiddle/Dancer), Nathan Pilatzke (Dancer), Cara Butler (Dancer),Redmond O’Toole (Guitar/Vocals). Click here for more details. Proceeds from this concert will be donated to Cuan an Chláir, an initiative by Bishop Willie Walsh & The Diocese of Killaloe to provide accommodation for the elderly.
