Friday Night Céilí at the Cultúrlann

Set and Céilí dancing to Live Music

Our Céilí takes place on a Friday night at 9pm until midnight. Music is provided by a live Céilí band featuring instruments such as fiddle, tin whistle, flute, accordion, bodhrán, producing Ireland’s unique traditional rhythmical sound that encourages feet and fingers to tap. We also provide a “Caller”, a person that calls out the dance steps as the music is played, so even complete beginners can join in. Entrance to the Céilí will cost you €10 and includes tea/coffee and scone.

Dancers at all levels are welcome and guidance will be provided by Jimmy Brennan for those who may be new to céilí dancing or who may be a bit out of practice.

Getting to the Cultúrlann in Monkstown from City Centre We are just minutes away from the DART station and the No.7 Dubln Bus Route. Taking the DART, your destination station is Seapoint. Turn immediately left at the exit and cross at the pedestrian lights, you then turn right up Belgrave Road and take the first turn left that you meet. This takes you into Belgrave Square as per map below. The No. 7 Bus goes from O’Connell Street in the City Centre out to the Cultúrlann also, just three stops past Blackrock Village. You need to get off on Monkstown Road at the stop before Seafield Avenue. When you exit the bus, keep left and then turn immediately right down into Belgrave Square.
