The CCE 2009 Convention is now underway in downtown St. Louis, Missouri at the Hilton St. Louis Ballpark Hotel from April 16-19th. The theme is Discover the Magic in St. Louis.
This Traditional Irish Weekend attracts over 2,000 people, members of CCE and non-members alike, many staying the entire weekend at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark Hotel. During this weekend, there will be music sessions throughout the hotel as well as workshops for Irish musicians, singers, dancers and Irish language. Additionally, there will be “ceilis” (group dances), youth activities, a local pub crawl and a Taste of St. Louis Tour.
The high point of the weekend is a Gala Banquet, attended by many Irish and American dignitaries, which features an exciting showcase of Traditional Irish music & dance by Comhaltas Performers. Tickets to the Gala Banquet are $75 (Table of ten for $750) and seating is reserved in advance.
We will publish a commemorative ad journal to raise funds to continue our highly successful mission of passing on the music and dance to the younger generation. In recent years, the Comhaltas movement has enjoyed a resurgence of younger teachers and students in St. Louis, ensuring a proud inheritance into the next generation. Our mission is to maintain the high standard we have worked hard to achieve and make musical instruction and instruments available to all who wish to learn.
