Paddy “Pecker” Dunne is one of the last of the great travelling musicians and balladeers. He has busked at GAA matches and fairs all over Ireland. He has played with The Dubliners and The Fureys, with Christy Moore and with Shay Healy. He has performed to huge audiences in Australia, Britain and the USA. He worked with Richard Harris and Stephen Rea in the film “Trojan Eddie”. Pecker has also written many songs including “Sullivans John” which was a big hit for Ronnie Drew and the Dubliners back in the sixties.
A Tribute Concert to the Pecker Dunne will take place in Cois na hAbhba, Ennis, on Friday April 18th beginning at 8.00pm featuring: Denis O’Toole, Carmel O’Leary, Eric Noon, Johnny Hoban, Wally Page, Noel Keating, Roxy John, Francy Carroll, Kevin Becker Dyke, Joe Searson, Gerry Buckle, Paddy Joe Tighe, Tom Cussen, Pat Costello, Pat Broderick, John Calford, Mickey Dunne and friends, Robbie McMahon and Pecker’s family.
