Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see the best young Celtic band from Wales, Allan Yn Y Fan, when they bring their exciting show of traditional music from Wales to Ennis on Friday, 25th September.
Allan Yn Y Fan is renowned as one of Wales’ finest twmpath bands and has an impressive reputation for concert work too! The Band, plus a caller, has demonstrated an ability to get any crowd onto a dance floor, whatever the occasion.
The band play a mixture of Welsh, Scottish and Irish tunes, with a healthy emphasis on the lesser-known wonderful tunes from Wales. The band is lucky enough to have three tunesmiths in its ranks and an increasing amount of the repertoire is self-composed.
The band has released two acclaimed albums on the Steam Pie label and has toured internationally since the 1990s. Their festival and concert experiences includes appearances at Trowbridge Village Pump(three times), Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau (twice), Priddy Folk Festival (twice); Pontardawe International Music Festival; Brampton Live, Cwlwm Celtaidd; Blackwood Miner’s Institute; Borough Theatre, Abergavenny, Theatr Brycheiniog Brecon and the Wales Millennium Centre. Their international experience includes three festivals in Ireland, Festival Interceltique Lorient (twice), three tours in Germany plus visits to the Czech Republic, Luxembourg and France.
As a twmpath dawns/ceilidh band they have more than ten years experience of getting any crowd up on the floor and having the time of their lives. They have played for corporate events at venues including Cardiff Castle, Caerphilly Castle and Llancaiach Fawr.
