Leinster Fleadh returns to Wicklow Town

We are delighted to announce that Wicklow Town has been selected to host the Leinster Fleadh 2024 which will run from 12th-14th July 2024.  Wicklow last hosted the Leinster Fleadh in 2009 for the very first time, allowing us to welcome thousands of Irish traditional musicians and Irish music enthusiasts from across the province to our beautiful county for a weekend of concerts, dancing, Fleadh competitions and street entertainment for all to enjoy. In 2009 the town saw crowds of up to 5,000 enjoying local businesses, amenities and entertainment.

It is a huge honour to be chosen as the host town once again and to bring this prestigious event back to the town and County. The Fleadh committee is working tirelessly to organise the event which is anticipated to bring approximately 25,000 visitors into the town again over the weekend, which includes over 2,000 musicians and competitors.

In addition to the Fleadh competitions, which see two representatives from each county in Leinster compete across 50+ disciplines, we are hoping to secure a gig rig billed with popular Irish musical acts who have expressed interest, (including Sharon Shannon, The Hothouse Flowers, Mundy and similar) to provide daily street entertainment, as well as traditional Irish music pub sessions, singing pub session, pop-up Gaeltacht, céilí dances and much more.
