On 5 February 2008, the branch held its annual pancake supper in Cunningham’s Loft in Carrickmacross. Cavan’s Martin Donohoe led the music and €500 was raised for the Carrickmacross Cancer Society. Much to his surprise Brian Walsh was presented with a well deserved distinguished service medal in recognition of all the hard work he had put in running the branch and organising the music classes over the last decade.
