Features

Cavan Town Branch of Comhaltas is a highly active unit which runs regular sessions throughout the year. It also organises concerts, céili and set dancing plus tuition in music, song and dance. The Branch also puts on a series of concerts throughout the months of July and August each year as part of the national Comhaltas Summer entertainment scheme.

New members are particularly welcome. Passing on the tradition of Irish culture is what Comhaltas do. Our informal sessions are one example of this and if you come along you will be treated to a wonderful evening of traditional music and song by children & adults of all ages. The branch intends to run these sessions one Sunday each month. All musicians, singers and dancers are encouraged to attend.

Those seeking information on traditional music classes should contact the Branch Chairperson, Martin Donohoe 086 2342270. The Branch would also welcome a donation of instruments to their instrument bank from those who no longer have use for them. Anyone wishing to join the Branch can do so by contacting either the Chairperson or the Secretary Aoife Murray. The membership costs for the year are 20 Euro for family membership or alternatively 6 Euro for an individual child, and 12 Euro for individual adult membership.
