Roscommon County Fleadh 2008

Ath-Liag – the Ford of the Flagstones – is a wonderful town for a County Fleadh. Ten years ago since the Fleadh was last held here and as its the first Fleadh of the season the hard-working Athleague committee set about ensuring the success of the week-end.

Roscommon History

The first Co. Board of Comhaltas in Co. Roscommon was established in 1954 - just three years after the founding of the Parent Body in Mullingar in 1951. County Roscommon is a county steeped in traditional culture and is noted, with South Sligo and Leitrim, for its distinctive style of flute playing to the present day.
