This week we present recordings featuring musicians from West Limerick, Dublin and Clare, including some selections recorded at Fleadh Nua in 2005.

00:00 West Limerick musician Pádraig King (accordion), Jeremy Spenser (fiddle) and Clodagh Buckley (piano) play a set of reels: “Fred Finn’s”, “Black Pat’s”, “The Bag of Spuds” and “Providence”. 05:47 A selection of reels from the Mulcahy family from Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick - Mick on accordion, Louise on flute and Michelle on fiddle -with Billy Mc Glynn on bouzouki. They play: “Last Night’s Fun”, “Lad O’ Beirne’s”, “Miss Lyon’s Fancy” (which is this week’s tutorial) and “The Dairymaid”.
11:33 From the Fleadh Nua Aos Óg concert in May 2005, we present two Dublin musicians and All-Ireland champions, James Mahon on flute and Niamh Denmead on harp. They play two jigs: “Eddie Kelly’s” and “Courtown Harbour”.
14:05 Dublin uilleann pipes player Elvin Moynagh plays a set of reels, ending with “The Bucks of Oranmore”. He was recorded at Fleadh Nua in 2005.
16:57 Recorded at the Fleadh Nua held in Ennis in 2005, button accordion player Darra Mulhearn from Ennis, Co. Clare plays the multi-part reel “The Mason’s Apron”. Fleadh Nua 2008 will be held in Ennis, Co. Clare May 18 - 26, 2008, with a very attractive line-up of events. More information is available at the Fleadh Nua website.
