ComhaltasLive #456-1: Students of St. Patrick’s College
A group of 13 traditional musicians, all students in St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, Dublin, recorded there on 20th November 2014, play a selection of jigs - “The Frost is All Over” and “The Young Fair Maidens”. Sincere thanks to Éadaoin Ní Mhaicín and her colleagues and well-known composer John Buckley who outlines the college’s music policy (at the end of the selection of jigs) for their help in organising the recording and making it such a pleasant occasion. The musicians are: Front row left-to-right: Mary O’Donnell (Donegal), John Traynor (Monaghan), Mark Swain (Westmeath), Sarah Meehan (Dublin), Evan Cunniffe (Roscommon), Niamh Molloy (Galway), Paul O’Sullivan (Wexford). Back row left-to-right: Deirdre Barry (Mayo), Cliona Henry (Sligo), Kate Byrne (Leitrim), Emer McCague (Monaghan), Catherine McGinley (Donegal), Éadaoin Ní Mhaicín (Mayo).
