486.01 New York fiddle player and former All-Ireland champion Dylan Foley plays two reels at Scoil Éigse Tutors recital at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo. The reels are “Billy McComiskey’s” and “The Abbeyleix Reel” which Dylan learned from New York accordion player John Nolan.
486.02 Sean nós dancer and Oireachtas winner 2012, Aisling Ní Cheannabháin dances a reel at the Cairde Charna Concert at Culturlann na hÉireann, Dublin on 10th October 2015. Musicians are Vinny Murphy, Wexford, on melodeon and Paul Clesham, Mayo, on concertina.
486.03 Dublin musicians L/R - Seán Montgomery, Claire Walsh, Tom Doorley and Eoin Ó Cionnaith, play “The Gold Ring” jig at the Cairde Charna unique feast of traditional music, song and dance at Cultúrlann na hÉireann, Dublin on 10th October 2015 to support and promote the very exciting Carna Project in Connemara, Co. Galway. The Carna project involves the building of a Commemorative Centre in recognition of the many who had to leave the area in times past, as part of the Irish Diaspora and will link the Carna community with their descendants throughout the world.
486.04 The Ó Raghallaigh family - Micheál on concertina and Áine, Nora and Mac Dara on fiddles, play a selection of jigs at the Cairde Charna unique feast of traditional music, song and dance at Cultúrlann na hÉireann, Dublin on 10th October 2015 to support and promote the very exciting Carna Project in Connemara, Co. 486.05 Jayne Pomplas, CCÉ, Tom Finucane, USA, plays “Lord Gordon’s reel” in 15-18 Fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo.
486.06 Winning the Senior button accordion competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015, Daithí Gormley, CCÉ, Paddy Killoran, Sligo, plays a version of “The high level” hornpipe.
486.07 Seven Scoil Éigse Tutors ¸ play a selection of jigs - “The blooming meadows” and “The wheels of the world”. The tutors are - L/R - Maura Walsh, Mary Tisdall, Noreen O’ Sullivan, Micheál Ó hAlmhain, Nicky and Ann McAuliffe and Maria Lynn McHugh on piano.
486.08 In a session at Ulster Fleadh Cheoil in July 2015 in Dromore, Co. Tyrone, fiddle player Mairead Lynch from Omagh, Co. Tyrone, plays two reels “Christmas Eve” and “The silver spear”. Guitar accompaniment is by Seamus Brennan also from Omagh.
486.09 Fiddle players Fiona Nic Conmara and Sarah O’ Gorman lead the musicians in the Macalla na hÉireann Comhaltas Tour of Ireland Concert in Brú Ború, Cashel on 23rd October 2015. The other musicians in the group - Séamus Ó Flatharta, harp, bodhrán, dancer; Paul Clesham, concertina and piano; Tim Doyle, uileann pipes; George McAdam, banjo and mandolin; Vincent Murphy, button accordion and melodeon; Gráinne Nic Ghiobúin, harp; Jana McCarthy-Kent, concert flute and whistle; Séamus Tierney, concert flute and whistle. The reels are “Shaskeen”, “The plough and the stars” and ‘The coalminer”.
486.10 Reel played by John Paul and Seamus Wick, CCÉ, Mike Rafferty-Joe Madden, USA, when taking 3rd place in 15-18 duets at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015.
486.11 A concertina solo by Micheál Ó Raghallaigh at Scoil Éigse Tutors recital at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo. Micheál plays three jigs commencing with “An lorgadán” (Junior Crehan).
486.12 A reel - “The whistler of Rosslea” (Ed. Reavy) played by Seamus Mac Cionnaith and Sineád Nic Cionnaith, CCÉ, Clogher Valley, Tyrone, in 15-18 duets at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015.
486.13 Hornpipe played by Natasha Sheehy, CCÉ, Teampall an Ghleanntáin, Co. Limerick, in the Senior button accordion competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo.
486.14 In a session at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo, three musicians - L/R - Emily Coffey, Maedbh Ní Shé and Kate Ní Shé from CCÉ, Niall Ó Cathasaigh, Ballincollig, Cork, play a reel - “Kiss the maid behind the barrel”.
486.15 Taking 3rd place in Senior fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo, Darragh Curtin, CCÉ, Brosna, Co. Kerry, plays a reel “Bonny Kate”.
486.16 Lough Oughter Céili Band from Killashandra, Co. Cavan, play a selection of reels in Senior Céili Band competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo. The reels are “Patsy Tuohy’s” and “Garret Barry’s”. Band members are - Mariesa Dolan and Ursula Finnegan on fiddles; Cein Sweeney, Amanda Finnegan and Padraig Bannon on flutes; Donal Reilly and Sharon Smith, accordions; Bronagh Sweeney, banjo; Conor Kiernan, piano and Martin Smith on drums.
