Musicians include John Carty on fiddle, Patsy Hanly and John Carlos on flutes, and Pat Broderick and Cian Sweeney on pipes. They play jigs “The Scotsman over the border” and “Tell her I am”.
496.02 From CCÉ, Cr. na gComarach, Co. Waterford, Jana McCarthy Kent and Clodagh Ní Cheallaigh play a Paddy O’ Brien hornpipe in 15-18 Duets competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, 2015 in Sligo.
496.03 In a session at the Willie Clancy Festival 2016 in Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare, a group of approx. a dozen musicians led by accordion player Jackie Daly play a selection of reels “The plough and the stars” and “George White’s”.
496.04 The Living Bridge Céilí Band from Castletroy, Limerick, play “Pearl O’ Shaughnessy’s Barndance” in Senior Céilí Bands competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, 2015 in Sligo. Band members are - Christine Mulcahy, Lucia Mac Partlin and Clare Quinn, fiddles; Seamus Harnett and Róisín Comer, flutes; Séan Kearney, button accordion; Danny Collins, piano accordion; Marty Barry, banjo; Deirdre Millane, piano and Niall Carey, drums.
496.05 Fiddle player Fíona Nic Conmara from Seanchill, Dublin, plays two hornpipes “Garrykennedy Castle” (P. O’ Brien) and “The Western”. Fiona is a multi-instrumentalist in traditional and classical music and was a member of the 2015 Comhaltas Concert Tour of Ireland - Macalla na hÉireann. Recorded in Brú Ború, Cashel, Co. Tipperary on 23rd October 2015.
496.06 The Fite Fuaite Céilí Band from CCÉ, Corofin, Co. Galway, play a hornpipe by Paddy O’ Brien in Senior Céilí Bands competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, 2015 in Sligo. Band members are - Iarliath Greene and Ciara Finan on fiddles; Kellie Mannion and Rebecca Keane, flutes; Kieran O’ Dea, accordion; Róisin Broderick and Lisa Kelly on Concertinas; Darren Hession, banjo; Conor Broderick, piano and Brendan Tierney on drums.
496.07 Uileann Piper Tim Doyle from Shankill, Co. Dublin, plays a slow air “The bright lady ”. Tim was a member of the 2015 Comhaltas Concert Tour of Ireland - Macalla na hÉireann. Recorded in Brú Ború, Cashel, Co. Tipperary on 23rd October 2015, Tim is also an accomplished player on tin whistle, fiddle and concertina.
496.08 Recorded on 4th June 2016 at a session at Limerick Fleadh Cheoi in Glin, young accordion player Liam Sheehy from Abbeyfeale, plays a reel “Morning mist” (by Joe Burke).
496.09 In the Sean Nós Dancing competition 15-18 at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, 2015 in Sligo, Caoimhe Ní Mhaolagáin, CCÉ, Paddy Bán Ó Broin, Dublin, dances a reel with music by Tommy Doherty.
496.10 All-Ireland 15-18 button accordion champion 2015, Colm Slattery, CCÉ, Ballycommon, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, plays two jigs “Tommy Peoples’ jig” and “The green fields of Woodford”. Recorded at The Half Door Resturant in Nenagh on 24th April 2016.
496.11 Recorded at a session at the Comhaltas North American Convention 2016 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, a reel played by concert flute player Jennifer Kelly from St. Louis Irish Arts Centre and enjoyed by her friends and fellow musicians Natasha Sanford and Zohra Coday.
496.12 Scoil Éigse tutors at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, 2015 in Sligo, Pat McCabe and Dean Warner both on piano accordions, play two jigs “Joe Cooley’s” and “Willie Coleman’s”.
496.13 Taking 2nd place in Full Set (Mixed) 15-18 competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo, Abbeyknockmoy CCÉ, Galway, dance “The Plain Set 1”. Dancers are - Dean Connell, Emma Carr, Evan O’ Toole, Katelyn Dunne, Keith Boyle, Odharna Raftery, Robert Carr and Roisin Laheen.
496.14 Reel played by John Paul Wick, Seamus Wick and Tim Clauss from CCÉ Mike Rafferty-Joe Madden, USA, when taking 2nd place in 15-18 Trios at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo.
496.15 Reel played in 15-18 Trios at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo, by Sinead, Seamus and Peadar Mac Cionnaith, CCÉ, Clogher Valley, Co. Tyrone.
