497.01 ‘The Kennedy Lineage’, a group of 5 fiddle players with the fiddles tuned AEAE instead of the usual GDAE, play very old settings of two reels “Greg’s Pipes” and “London Lassies”, at a special Jubilee Concert in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim on Sunday 17th July 2016. The players are L/R Marie Reilly (who travelled from USA for the concert), Marion Mulligan, Conor Ward, Claire Bohan and Fiachra Henry. Patrick Hamell provided a “very light touch’ on drums. The concert was organised by Fr John Quinn who has done extraordinary work researching the music of the region as well as teaching many young musicians and organising bands in many areas over the years. The concert was presented by Martin Donohoe.

497.02 Dulra Ní Áinle, Tomás Ó Gabhain and Síofra Ní Áinle from CCÉ, Fred Finn/Paddy Killoran, Sligo, play a hornpipe in 15-18 Trios at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo.

497.03 At a street session at Munster Fleadh Cheoil in Listowel, Co. Kerry, on Saturday 16th July 2016, a selection of reels commencing with “Farewell to Ireland” played by fiddle player Anna Buckley from Rathcoole, Millstreet, Co. Cork and danced by Cian Broderick from Rockchapel, Co. Cork. Cian features as flute player in 497.08.

497.04 Brian Ryan, son of the late renowned fiddle player and composer Seán Ryan, together with family members and friends, play one of Seán’s many compositions, the jig called “Fr Quinn’s”, called after Seán’s very close friend Fr John, who organised the concert - a special Jubilee Concert in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim on Sunday 17th July 2016.The concert was presented by Martin Donohoe.

497.05 A selection of reels played by a large group of musicians in the Millrace Pub at the annual Joe Mooney festival in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim on Thursday 21st July 2016. The musicians include Tony Trundle, Kinvara; Laura Ugur, Corofin, Co. Clare; Carol Leader, Clonakilty, Co. Cork; John Linden, Belfast: John Mackel, Belfast; Damian and Mairéad Walls, Portglenone, Co. Antrim; Bríd O’ Keeffe, Drumshanbo; Sven Paetz; Pádraig Butler, Kilkenny; Tommy Peyton, Co. Roscommon; Bob Singer, Spanish Point, Co. Clare.

497.06 From CCÉ, Cr. Cronáin, Cork, Cáit Ní Ghormáin, Garrett Ó hAnnluain and Máire Ní Ghormáin play “Paddy O’ Brien’s hornpipe” in 15-18 Trios at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo.

497.07 Two Seán Ryan hornpipes “The Ballyoran” ( also called “Seán Ryan’s wonder” ) and “McMahon’s” played by banjo player Willie Kavanagh and his wife Kathleen on piano. Recorded at the special Jubilee Concert at the annual Joe Mooney festival in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim on Sunday 17th July 2016, organised by Fr John Quinn and presented by Martin Donohoe.

497.08 At a street session at Munster Fleadh Cheoil in Listowel, Co. Kerry, on Saturday 16th July 2016, a selection of reels “The Dublin reel” and “Greg’s pipes” played by fiddle player Anna Buckley from Rathcoole, Millstreet, Co. Cork and Cian Broderick from Rockchapel, Co. Cork on concert flute. Cian featured as dancer in 497.03.

497.09 A selection of reels played by John Lee and the Finnegan family from Drumerkane, Co. Leitrim, at a special Jubilee Concert in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim on Sunday 17th July 2016, organised by Fr John Quinn and presented by Martin Donohoe. The reels are “The bush in bloom” (as played by John Masterson a fiddle master from Dromard, Co. Longford), “Reel in memory of John Blessing” composed by John Lee, and “The Drumerkane reel”.

497.10 From CCÉ, Clogher Valley, Co. Tyrone, Peadar, Séamus and Sinéad Ní Cionnaith play “Miss Walsh’s jig” in 15-18 Trios at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo.

497.11 In 15-18 Duets at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo, Brendan Martin and Tiernan Courell from CCÉ, Fred Finn, Sligo, play a jig “Maloney’s wife”.

497.12 Róisín Rodgers from Gort, Co. Galway ( Ladies singing champion at Connacht Fleadh Cheoil 2014 ) sings “The Fleadh down in Ennis”, the popular song composed by the late Robbie McMahon commemorating the 1956 Fleadh held in Ennis, Co. Clare. Recorded at Connacht Fleadh Cheoil on 3rd July 2016. The 2016 Fleadh is of course being held in Ennis from 14th to 22nd August.

497.13 About a dozen musicians at a session at the Joe Mooney Festival in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim, play a selection of reels “The woman of the house” and “Rakish Paddy”. Recorded in Conway’s Pub on Thursday 21st July 2016.

497.14 Jig played in 15-18 Duets at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo by Séamus and Sinéad Ní Cionnaith, CCÉ, Clogher Valley, Co. Tyrone.

497.15 Hornpipe “The high level” played by Cormac McBride and Seán and Lauren Hegarty from CCÉ, Aran Derg, Co. Tyrone in 15-18 Trios at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015 in Sligo.

497.16 Musicians John Carty on fiddle, Patsy Hanly on concert flute, Cian Sweeny and Pat Broderick both on uileann pipes, play a selection of reels at a session in Percy French Hotel, in Strokestown, Co. Roscommon, at Connacht Fleadh Cheoil on 3rd July 2016.
