538.01 Dublin flute player Sarah Jane Woods, with accompaniment on keyboard by Martin Gaffney (also an excellent flute player), plays two Jigs - “The maid on the green” and “Shandon Bells”. They are both members of Craobh Naithí Comhaltas branch and play with the Dodder Banks Céilí Band. Recorded in Culturlann na hÉireann, Monkstown, Dublin on 22nd January 2018.

538.02 Recorded in her native Chicago at the North American Comhaltas Convention in April 2018, Fiddle player Lexia Kennedy plays 2 Reels - “The leading role” (Liz Carroll) and “Lad O’ Byrne’s”.

538.03 Paddy Callaghan from CCÉ, Irish Minstrels, Glasgow, Scotland, plays a Jig - “The gold ring” - in Senior Button Accordion competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Co. Clare.

538.04 Three members of the very successful Craobh Chronáin Comhaltas branch in north Cork, Emma Moynihan, Hannah O’ Flaherty and Fionn O’ Hanlon, play 2 Reels - “The bag of spuds” and “Mayor Harrison’s fedora”. Recorded in their native Freemount on 11th March 2018, the Branch won All-Ireland Céilí Band titles in 2017 - Senior for 3rd year in a row, (Shandrum C. Band); 15-18 for 3rd year in a row (Crossfields C. Band) and 12-15 (Crossfields C. Band). The Branch are also All-Ireland Pléaracha Champions 2018. Fiddle and accordion player Alan Finn is their Musical Director.

538.05 Well known singer and musician Colm O’ Donnell sings “The boys of Barr na Sráide” at a great session of music and song recorded in John Finan’s Pub in Charlestown, Co. Mayo on 24th July 2017.

538.06 Taking 2nd place in 15-18 Céilí Bands competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Craanhill Céilí Band from Co. Wexford play a March.

538.07 Taking 3rd place in Senior Fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Jake James from CCÉ, Mulligan- Quinn, USA, plays a Hornpipe - “the black swan”.. Incidentally, Jake took 1st place in Fiddle Slow Airs competition.

538.08 Taking 3rd place in 12-15 Céilí Bands competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Inis Óg C. Band, CCÉ, Cora Finne, Co. Clare, play a Reel - “The drunken landlady”.

538.09 Flute player David Vesey from CCÉ, Spink, Co. Laois, plays a selection of Slip Jigs - “The thorn tree” (Gráinne Hambly) and “Eliz. Kelly’s delight”. Recorded prior to the Comhaltas Tour of Ireland Concert in Brú Ború, Cashel, Co. Tipperary on 20th October 2017.

538.10 From Drumcollogher, Co. Limerick, fiddle player Patricia Wright plays a selection of Jigs - “Dancing eyes” (Seán Ryan) and “Old John’s jig”. Recorded in her native Teampall an Ghleanntáin Comhaltas branch in West Limerick on 21st January 2018.

538.11 In Senior Céilí Bands competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Banna Ceoil Cnoc na Gaoithe, from Tulla, Co. Clare, play Reels - “Molly Bawn” and “Andersons”. Members of the band are - Finbar English, Jennifer Markham and Amy McNamara on fiddles; Orlaith McAuliffe and Kevin Carey on flutes; Colm Slattery (accordion); Kate McNamara (concertina); Darragh Carey-Kennedy (banjo); Gearóid McNamara (piano) and Conor Harnett on drums.

538.12 Taking 1st place in Senior Duets competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Sárán and Tadhg Mulligan from CCÉ, Dundalk, Co. Louth, play a Jig.

538.13 In Senior Trios competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Mary Kate Carolan, Jake James and Seagda Coyle, from CCÉ, Coleman-O’Grady/Mulvihill/Mulligan-Quinn, USA, play a Jig - “The Clare shout”.

538.14 Reel played in 12-15 Céilí Bands competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Co. Clare, by the Lendrum Céilí Band from Ceoltóirí Fintona, Co. Tyrone.

538.15 In Senior Duets competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Co. Clare, Benedict Morris and Tiernan Courell, CCÉ, St. Patricks, Coatbridge, Scottish Region, Britain and CCÉ, Fred Finn, Sligo, play a Reel - “Eania’s fancy”.
