542 01 Recorded at a session in The Half-Door, Nenagh, on 5th June 2018, fiddle player Blaithín Kennedy from Boher, Nenagh, plays a selection of Reels commencing with “Splendid isolation” (B. McGlinchey). Blaithín is a member of Ballycommon Comhaltas branch.

542.02 Fiddle player Tadhg Mulligan from Dundalk, Co. Louth and John McCann from Coa, Co. Fermanagh on bouzouki, play two Reels - “Touch me if you dare” and “The green fields of America”. Recorded prior to the Comhaltas Tour of Ireland Concert (in which both were performers) in Brú Ború, Cashel, Co. Tipperary on 20th October 2017.

542.03 Jig played by Hollie Greenwood, CCÉ, Irish Traditions, Atlanta, Georgia, USA, when she took 3rd place in 15-18 Fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Co. Clare.

542.04 Two of Ireland’s outstanding concertina players Bobby Gardiner and Emma Corbett play a selection of Reels ending with “Hand me down the tackle” during Brú Ború Seisiún Group’s annual Summer Show in Cashel, Co. Tipperary on 9th August 2017. The group consists of approximately 20 members - musicians, singers and dancers who provide a spectacular show every summer in Brú Ború under the direction of Úna Ní Mhurchú. The 2018 show runs from 3rd July to 16th August, Tuesday to Saturday night each week (except final week finishing Thursday).

542.05 Breanna Wilson from CCÉ, Irish Minstrels, Glasgow, Scotland, plays a Reel - “The College Groves” - in 15-18 Fiddle competition at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Co. Clare.

542.06 After taking 1st place in 15-18 Whistle competition at Tyrone Fleadh in her native Dungannon, in June 2018, Maeve O’ Donnell plays a reel - “Trim the velvet”.

542.07 At an informal session (during the Tyrone County Fleadh) outside St. Patrick’s Academy where all the competitions were held, fiddle players Sadhbh McCabe and Sinéad McKenna play a selection of Jigs ending with “I was born for sport”.

542.08 After taking 1st place in 12-15 Trios competition at Tyrone Fleadh in Dungannon in June 2018, Megan Teague (flute), Ciarán McKenna (harp) and Áine McCaffrey (fiddle) play “Paddy Fahy’s jig”.

542.09 Recorded in Una Powell’s Pub on 30th June at Nenagh Castlefest 2018, Galway fiddle players Liz and Yvonne Kane, George McAdam (Monaghan) on banjo, Marie Walsh (Galway) on button accordion, Maura Walsh (Kerry) on concertina and Mark McCrystal (Tyrone) on keyboard. They play a selection of Reels commencing with “Jack Coughlan’s”. Watch out for Liz delivering the wink of the weekend !

542.10 At the Scoil Éigse Tutors’ Concert at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, Niamh McGloin on harp, Aisling Vaughan and Muireann Banks on concertinas and Elaine Reilly on banjo play a selection of Reels commencing with “The blockers” (S. Ryan).

542.11 After taking 1st place in 12-15 Concert flute competition at Tyrone County Fleadh Cheoil 2018 in Dungannon, Megan Teague (Dromore CCÉ) plays “Trim the velvet” reel and Megan’s appreciative young brother Peter presents her with a special award !

542.12 Recorded at a session at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017 in Ennis, in her native Co. Clare, Boston based Florence Fahy plays a hornpipe “The swan” (S. Ryan) and a reel “Pigtown”.

542.13 After taking 1st place in 15-18 Button Accordion competition at Tyrone County Fleadh Cheoil 2018 in Dungannon, Patrick Harvey, CCÉ, Portmore, plays “The high level” hornpipe.

542.14 After winning the 15-18 Fiddle competition for the 3rd year in a row at Tyrone County Fleadh Cheoil 2018, Sinéad McKenna, CCÉ, Clogher Valley, plays a Reel - “Johnny Harling’s”. Recorded at one of the many sessions during the Fleadh in Dungannon which was an outstanding success.

542.15 ( At a session recorded in The Half-Door Pub and Resturant in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary on 5th June 2018, All-Ireland U-18 button accordion champion 2017 Keelan McGrath from Ballycommon CCÉ, Nenagh, plays a selection of Jigs commencing with “Kathleen Collins’ jig”.
